Eugene Carlin began his coaching career in 2000 while working with Aviva, in partnership with a UK-based coaching company, UNICUS. Since then, coaching has been a consistent part of his corporate and business career, supporting individuals through practical, work-based development.
Education and qualifications
To complement his professional experience, gained through senior corporate roles and running his own business, Eugene Carlin completed a master’s degree in Leadership and Innovation (Link Dissertation), alongside formal coaching qualifications.
Coaching approach
Eugene Carlin supports individuals through Vertical Coaching. Where appropriate, he uses a hybrid coaching and mentoring approach. This provides practical guidance alongside structured coaching, supporting clearer outcomes and sustained development.
Coaching focuses on helping clients clarify goals and move forward. Mentoring draws on shared experience and insight to support learning and decision-making.
Programme structure
The programme runs for twelve weeks and can be ended by either party at any time, with no financial loss to the client. The first one-to-one meeting is face to face and free of charge. Its purpose is to establish rapport and assess whether meaningful development can be achieved. A longer-term agreement can be discussed after the initial programme, if mutually agreed.
